CLOUD Sofa Bed: an everyday sleeping place with no compromise in the living room
CLOUD is a straight sofa bed of Polish manufacture for a living room, study or rest area — furniture expected to work in two modes, day and night, and to work equally well in both. Overall dimensions are 230×102×95 cm; unfolded, it provides a full 140×200 cm sleeping area. The name matches the character of the piece: a soft seat, low visual weight, calm geometry with no crowded detailing.
The pantograph mechanism: why it matters more than looks
CLOUD uses a pantograph mechanism (also known as tick-tock or walking mechanism). Unlike roll-out systems, the seat does not travel across the floor on rollers — it "steps" forward and lowers, meaning it never touches the floor covering. For parquet, laminate or vinyl tile this is decisive: roll-out mechanisms eventually leave visible tracks; a pantograph does not. It unfolds with one hand, without effort, and without pulling the sofa away from the wall each time.
Filling: spring block plus polyurethane foam
The combination of a spring block with polyurethane foam is what separates a sofa for nightly sleep from a sofa for occasional guests. The spring block holds its shape and distributes load across the whole surface, while the foam layer provides a comfortable top surface. A sofa built on foam alone sags within a year or two of daily use — with CLOUD that risk is substantially lower.
Cushion back and four cushions included
The back is soft and assembled from cushions, so it can be rearranged to suit you: raised for reading, partly removed for watching a film, folded down during the day. Four cushions are included: two small at 35×35 cm and two large at 100×47 cm.
Storage compartment
Beneath the seat is a spacious compartment for pillows, duvets and bed linen. For a "sofa instead of a bed" scenario this is not an option but a requirement — otherwise the bedding has to be carried to another room every morning.
Frame, legs, upholstery
The frame combines solid wood with particleboard. The legs are wooden, black, 16 cm high, lifting the sofa clear of the floor: cleaning underneath stays easy, and the model does not read as bulky despite its 230 cm length. Upholstery is fabric. The 45 cm seat height is a universal figure — comfortable to rise from for older users and for anyone who struggles to get up from low, soft seating.
Seven colours for different jobs
CLOUD comes in seven finishes: white, beige, grey, turquoise, pink, blue and orange. The neutral three (white, beige, grey) suit living rooms and any space where visual load should stay low: rest rooms, waiting areas, relaxation rooms. The saturated tones (turquoise, blue, orange, pink) work as an accent in a minimalist interior, or as a way to zone an open space without partitions.
Planning the layout? Note that when unfolded the sofa occupies roughly 140 cm in depth, so allow around 40 cm of clear space in front of its folded 102 cm depth. Check this before ordering — this is the step people get wrong most often.
